  • Up to 128 channels of recording.

  • A virtually unlimited facility for multiple takes and 'cutting and pasting' sections of recordings.

  • The facility of 'instant playback' to listen to sections or even the whole of previous takes.

  • State of the art effects and processing including emulations of the acoustic sound of the worlds best concert halls and recording spaces.

  • A mixing and mastering facility from stereo to 7.1 surround mixing with monitoring on B&W Nautilus speakers as used extensively in the worlds best monitoring rooms such as Abbey Road and in particular B&W 802 speakers identical to those used for mixing and mastering film soundtracks at Lucasfilm's 'Skywalker Sound' Ranch.
Despite the difficulties and risk involved with bringing expensive microphones to a location, we offer a fully featured microphone list with mics identical to those used at a world class studio. The following is a short selection of the microphones which are routinely used as microphones of choice for our recordings:

Neumann QM69 –The ‘jewel of the crown’ mic. A very rare ultimate microphone for location recording – of which we own one of only 50 in the world. It uses 4 separate directional capsules from the classic and rare U67 – currently worth £3000 each for a delicate and rich sound of the best acoustic recordings ever made. This combined with the 4 capsules in the same mic offers a perfect acoustic image of a performance.

Neumann M147 – A modern ‘tube’ microphone with a superb balance remeniccent of classic microphones with a warm, silky sound. The ultimate choice for vocals of all kinds as well as being used by the worlds top engineers as an orchestral spot mic.

Neumann TLM103 – Identical capsule to the industry standard ‘U87’ but with a ‘crisper’ sound. An excellent vocal mic.

Bruel & Kjaer 4006 – An industry standard for acoustic recordings of orchestral and choral groups. Superbly accurate and neutral sounding.

As well as these mics which may be the ‘weapons of choice’ for most of our engineers, we also stock specialist AKG Drum mic kits, industry standard mics from Gefell, Shure, Rode, and Blue. Please let us know if you have any particular equipment requirements or preferences.
